Mapfre + Helly Hansen | Volvo Ocean Race
Auckland’s Viaduct was transformed into the exciting Interactive Race Village in preparation for one of the most gruelling sporting competitions, the Volvo Ocean Race. The City Of Sails was used as a stopover for leg 7 of the race that sees teams cross 46000 nautical miles around the world, across four oceans and 12 major cities.
Select Management joined in on the excitement working with Helly Hansen who are this year’s sponsors of MAPFRE, a Spanish based team who are leading contenders in the race. Specialising in high quality gear designed for sailing, skiing and outdoor activities, Helly Hansen are passionate about providing the MAPFRE team with the most professional grade, durable sailing wear. This customised gear is aimed to keep the team dry and comfortable in the extreme ocean conditions the team will face whilst ensuring optimum performance from start to finish.
Supporting the Spanish race boat, Select Management worked at the MAPFRE base located in the Volvo Ocean Village to help promote the Helly Hansen merchandise including T-shirts, bags, hats and plenty more.
Leading the way as they departed from New Zealand, let’s hope MAPFRE can sail their way into a win with the race finishing at The Hague in June.
